The Tennessee Department of Education and Secretary Lizette Reynolds announced this week that Franklin Special School District has received the designation for the second time in six years. Exemplary neighborhood, highest possible designation.
FSSD is one of only 12 school districts in the state to be named a Model School District for the 2022-23 school year. To be designated as an exemplary school district by the TDOE, a school district must demonstrate through accountability measures a district-wide performance score of 3.1 or higher on a 4.0 scale across all performance indicators referenced above. .
In addition to this district designation, FSSD is proud to announce that the following three schools have earned the honor of being named Reward Schools for the 2022-23 school year.

- Poplar Grove Elementary School
