There is a scam going on in the Google Maps/Google Business Profile world.
Your competitors may move their Google Maps pin to a new location, which could negatively impact your rankings.
This has been happening for several months and is affecting many Google Business Profile listings.
It's easy for scammers to make these kinds of changes. Suggest an edit Add features to your Google Business Profile and edit your location on the map.
If your map pin moves to a new location, Google will think your business is no longer in its previous location, which can cause your rankings to plummet.
Why is this a problem for you?
Google will not notify GBP listing owners and managers that their map pin has been moved.
So unless you’re specifically looking for this change, you may not know why you’re no longer getting calls or customers, and if you’re tracking your Google Business Profile rank, you may not know why it suddenly dropped.
If you fall victim to this scam, it's not enough to simply go to your Google Business Profile and reposition your pins in the correct location, as doing so will often result in your Google Business Profile being suspended.
How to resolve the issue

Next, find your business listing on Google Maps and follow these steps:

- click Change your name and other details.
- click Edit location on map.
- Drag the map until the pin is in the correct location.
